To Obtain a Certified Copy of a Marriage Certificate Issued in Shelby County, Alabama
You may request a copy of a marriage certificate by mail or in person at the Shelby County Probate Office. Please note: We can only provide copies of marriage certificates that were issued in Shelby County. To obtain a copy of a certified marriage certificate by mail, send $3 for each certified copy requested to the following address:

Include a postage-paid, self-addressed envelope for the return of your certified marriage certificate. The following information will need to be provided:
- Both parties' full name at time of marriage
- Date of marriage

- A check must be sent that is made payable to “Shelby County Probate Judge”

You may purchase a certified copy in the Probate Office, of the Shelby County Courthouse in Columbiana, Alabama. Room A101. Copies are $3 per certification.
