The Lallouise Florey McGraw Public Library, located in Vincent, Alabama, is one of the oldest libraries in Shelby County. In the 1950s, Mrs. McGraw started our library in the corner of her father’s grocery store. Groundbreaking ceremonies, for the current building, were held in the fall of 1966, and the doors opened to the public on December 6, 1966.
Our collection for check out includes books, books on cd/tape, magazines, DVDs, and video games. Our resources aren’t limited to the materials within our walls. Materials may be ordered from other Shelby County Libraries and delivered to our library.
Along with free Wi-Fi, we provide public access computers and laptops for your convenience.
Throughout the calendar school year, preschool programming is provided month twice monthly. Summer Reading Programs are provided in the month of July.
Our goal is to provide excellent library information, services, and resources to the citizens of Vincent, and surrounding areas. We invite you to come enjoy our snack bar, visit with our friendly staff, Vincent community friends, and check out your favorite materials.
