- Purchase and Removal of Terex Crane
The Shelby County Commission provides services to residents of Shelby County through various operational units. In order to provide the best possible customer service, Shelby County is currently liquidating a piece of equipment – a 2003 Terex Crane (Model # T790 – 90 ton). Shelby County desires responsive bidders to provide a proposal to purchase and remove the crane. The minimum bid that will be accepted by Shelby County is $100,000.00.
Site Description
The Terex crane is located at the Shelby County Highway Department Equipment Shop/Yard located at 505 Highway 70, Columbiana, AL 35051. It is available for inspection, upon request, between the hours of 8:00am and 2:00pm, Mon-Fri. Contact Brad Peak (205-288-0825) to schedule an inspection.
Asset Description
The proposed project will consist of providing bid prices for the purchase and removal of the following asset:
2003 Terex Crane, Model #T790. Classified as a 90-ton Crane. 2,832 miles and 759 hours on the unit. It has received annual inspections from Crane U, including the inspection for 2025.
Evaluation Criteria
At the conclusion of this proposal process, Shelby County intends to sell the asset to the highest bidder that is able to meet the criteria. Shelby County reserves the right to decline all proposals. Proposals will be evaluated based on 1) purchase price and 2) ability to remove the unit in a timely manner (ideally within 30 days of notice).

All Proposers must use the form provided for submitting their proposal. All proposals must be sealed and marked in the lower left corner of the envelope, “RFP – Purchase and Removal of Terex Crane” with opening date and time stated. Late proposals will not be opened.
Proposals must be received no later than 2:30 p.m. CST on July 18, 2025. The proposals will be date and time stamped upon receipt. All inquiries and requests for clarification must be submitted in writing and a written response will be provided in return. Payments
All assets are sold as is/where is and payment is required prior to the removal of the asset. Shelby County reserves the right to decline all proposals.
