Clarifications:
Q1. It appears that the fire alarm panel cannot be added to or expanded, please provide information on what to include in the bid to address this issue.
A1. Per the design engineer and JCI/Simplex, although the control panel is obsolete, the single duct detector, with unit shutdown, can be added to the system.

Q2. Please advise regarding who is responsible for removing and reinstalling the existing interior cameras.
A2. The owner will remove the existing cameras and secure all cabling before demolition and reinstall all camera devices and cabling after the contractor’s work is complete.
Q3. Please clarify aluminum jacketing requirements for new HVAC systems. Does all new ductwork, refrigerant piping, and condensate drain piping get aluminum jacketing?
A3. Only the ductwork and any exterior refrigerant piping requires aluminum jacketing.
Q4. Is there a preferred HVAC controls contractor for this project? The HVAC plans reference BAS, but the controls spec does not identify approved contractor(s).
A4. Honeywell / Southeastern Temperature Controls (Contact – Mike Enea - (205) 296-2866)
Q5. Is a refrigerant piping plan available for this project? Refrigerant pipe routes are not indicated on the HVAC plan.
A5. This is addressed in revised plan sheet M5 (see attached).
Q6. Duct cleaning is discussed in the specs on sheet M11. Will duct cleaning services be required for new ductwork if adequately protected from entrance of debris?
A6. Duct cleaning will only be required if during construction inadequate protection of the duct interior is not provided.
Q7. Please see attached note 9 on E-5 concerning fire alarm. Is this to mean a point to point drawing of the existing fire alarm or just for the work to be done with the heating & air?
A7. This only applies to new work.
Q8. Please confirm that per Section 231000 – Materials and Methods – HVAC – Part 2 (2.1 HVAC Drain Piping) Standard weight galvanized piping is allowed with galvanized iron fittings.
A8. The use of galvanized drain piping and fittings shall be removed and NOT allowed. Only Type L hard copper with wrought copper fittings will be allowed.
