The Shelby County Commission pursuant to the Code of Alabama Section 22-27-47 gives notice of a public comment period and hearing regarding the Shelby County Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP). The Plan provides for the orderly management of solid waste generated within the County for at least the next 10 years. The public comment period shall last from September 23, 2024 to October 24, 2024. The Plan includes the current summary and future estimation of the generation, collection, disposal, and recycling of solid waste in Shelby County. The public comment period and hearing will allow the public an opportunity to voice any comments regarding the Shelby County Solid Waste Management Plan.
The hearing is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 in the Work Session Conference Room at the Shelby County Administration Building, 200 West College Street, Columbiana, AL 35051.
