The Shelby County License offices will be closed on Friday, December 8, 2023, due to a title system conversion at the Alabama Department of Revenue.
On Thursday, December 7 at 7:00 PM the statewide motor vehicle systems will go offline until Monday, December 11th at 8:00 AM. This extended system downtime will also include online web-based license transactions, license office ATM functionality, MLI inquiries, and personalized tag inquiries. The State offices will be open to address driver license transactions on December 8th.
Beginning Monday, December 11, 2023, all Alabama counties will title Alabama motor vehicles on a new titling system administered by the Alabama Department of Revenue. We appreciate your patience through this state-mandated conversion.
