ALL Shelby County License Offices are Open

The Shelby County License Offices in Pelham, Inverness and Coumbiana are open with limited access and a new queue system in place (Click for more information on new queue system).  ALEA offices in Pelham & Columbiana are open with EXTENDED wait times.  The STAR ID requirement has been delayed until Oct. 2021.

The Shelby County Commission recommends you wear a mask for your protection and others.  During the COVID-19 pandemic, Shelby County’s goal has been to continue to provide a level of local government functions through this crisis and comply with the recommendations of the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) and the Governor’s orders. The Shelby County Commission and its staff have developed plans and protocols to protect the health of the public, our staff, and all of those directly affected by governmental processes.

All Shelby County departments have modified operations to previously standard workflows to reduce or eliminate direct public contact to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.
