Welcome to the Shelby County, Alabama, Probate Judge's web site. I'm Patricia Fuhrmeister, and I have served as Probate Judge of Shelby County since my election in 1994. I am grateful for the confidence the people of Shelby County have placed in me, and it is my goal to live up to their expectations. This site has been developed to provide the citizens of Shelby County and other interested persons with information about the Probate Office and with on-line access to many of the records which our office maintains. Many people are unfamiliar with the Probate Judge's duties and with the services provided by our office. This site will acquaint you with some of these services and will refer you to other sources which you might find helpful. The Probate Judge's four primary areas of responsibility are judicial, recording, elections and marriages.
